The Chain, Chapter 2 is a 5 year old single malt from Chain Pier, a Lowland distillery in Edinburgh that has now closed. It was distilled in April 2019 and bottled in March 2025 by Uncharted Whisky Company, founded by Jack Breslin and Dana de Vos, at a cask strength of 57.6% in a 70cl bottle.
It matured entirely in a first fill French red wine barrique, which gave 294 bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered.
The nose is heavy and meaty, with black treacle, cinnamon and sawdust. The palate is rich and full bodied, and the finish leaves butterscotch and oak, followed by brighter red fruit.
