This is a 6 year old single malt from Chain Pier, a Lowland distillery set up in 2019 that made only 39 casks. It is bottled by Tri Carragh at a cask strength of 58.9%.
The spirit was distilled in 2020 and matured in a first fill PX cask, then finished in a second fill red wine octave before bottling in 2026. The outturn is 86 bottles, in natural colour and without chill filtration.
The nose offers dark berries, raisin syrup, black cherry, treacle and fig, with raspberry and redcurrant, oak spice and roasted coffee. The palate has sticky dates, plum jam and dark toffee with cinnamon, clove and black pepper. The finish is long, with dried fruits, cocoa and sweet oak spice.
