A sweet white wine from Sauternes in France, made with grapes affected by Botrytis cinerea. It has an intense, bright golden colour. The nose offers apricot, honey, candied citrus and vanilla, with a subtle oak note. The palate is rich and velvety, with fresh acidity balancing the sweetness. The finish is long and persistent, with exotic fruit and sweet spices. It pairs well with fruit tarts, crème brûlée and blue cheeses such as Roquefort, and has good ageing potential.
