Sauternes Lur Saluces A.O.C. 2013 from Chateau de Fargues is a sweet wine from Bordeaux. The 2013 vintage is noted for elegance and exceptional balance. The grapes are largely Sémillon with a small percentage of Sauvignon Blanc, left to shrivel on the vine so that Botrytis cinerea, noble rot, concentrates sugars and aromas. On the nose it offers ripe apricot, acacia honey and candied citrus. On the palate the sweetness is balanced by acidity, giving freshness and long aromatic persistence, with flavours of tropical fruit, honey and vanilla from barrique ageing. It suits foie gras, blue cheeses such as Roquefort, fruit-based desserts and meditation.
