Sauternes Lur Saluces 2007 Château de Fargues

A sweet wine from Château de Fargues in Sauternes, Bordeaux, from the 2007 vintage. The 2007 vintage is noted for complexity and finesse, with optimal sugar concentration. It has an intense golden, almost amber colour. The nose offers candied fruit, acacia honey, dried apricot, sweet spices such as vanilla and cardamom, beeswax and light oak from a brief passage in barrique. On the palate it is luxurious and well balanced, with sweetness supported by lively acidity. The finish is long and persistent. It suits foie gras, blue cheeses such as Roquefort, or dessert preparations based on fruit or creams.
