This is a 2006 vintage Bas-Armagnac from Château de Laubade, established in 1870 at Sorbets in the Gers department of Gascony. It is made from Baco alone, grown in the estate's own vineyards, from a single year and a single distillation.
The spirit matures in Gascony oak casks that the estate coopers itself, so the wood is controlled from stave to cask.
The character is elegant, racy and precise, with sweet tobacco, rancio, dried orange zest, cubeb pepper and dried lemon.
