Chichibu – 10 Year Old Release 2025 (70cl, 50.5%)

Chichibu 10 Year Old is a Japanese single malt released in 2025 as a small batch of 4,956 bottles, bottled at 50.5%. It is only the second regular ten-year-old from the distillery, following The First Ten of 2020, and belongs to the Ichiro's Malt series. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. Mostly bourbon casks were chosen, with some sherry and red wine casks added. Tropical and light fruit sit alongside vanilla, honey, spice and toasted malt. The nose combines honey, pear, vanilla and peach, with a floral honey note and sandalwood. The palate is full and silky, with orange peel, juicy peach, redcurrant, oak spice and white pepper. The long finish carries white pepper and toasted malt into drier wood, with a faint incense-like smoke.
