Chichibu Distillery – Ichiro's No.2 (70cl, 55.5%)

A single malt Japanese whisky from Chichibu Distillery in Saitama, bottled at 55.5% in a 700ml bottle. The whisky was distilled in the early years of the distillery's operation, and it shows the work of Ichiro Akuto. It has a bright golden colour, and the oak influence is present but restrained. The nose has ripe orchard fruit, citrus peel and honeyed malt with vanilla and light spice. The palate brings sweet malt, pear, apple and citrus, with gentle oak spice, soft caramel and a touch of white pepper. The finish is medium-long, with lingering fruit sweetness and light spice.
