Chichibu – Intergalactic Series Edition 6 (70cl, 64%)

Chichibu Intergalactic Series Edition 6 is a Japanese whisky bottled at 64% in a 70cl bottle. The series began in 2019 with an idea from Dutch bar owner Werry van Leeuwen, who wanted retro science fiction illustrations on Chichibu labels. Editions 5 and 6 carry artwork by Mr. Kalopsia, known for astronaut and space designs, and this one was made for Austria, with casks chosen by whisky experts. The nose has soft leather, juicy melon and peach, with savoury, salty hints of pretzel and salted caramel toffee. Smoke, berries and almonds follow, and lime peel and tea come through with a splash of water.
