This is the 2020 London Edition from Chichibu, a Japanese single malt in a 70cl bottle. It is the third in the series and one of 1,736 bottles made exclusively for the UK.
The whisky is a vatting of seven casks with a minimum age of six years. Some held bourbon, some ex-peated whisky, and some were fitted with mizunara oak heads.
The nose opens on Chantilly cream and green apple, with peppermint, dried reeds and cask vanilla and fudge. The palate brings apple compote, pear jam and cinnamon sweets over grassiness, and the finish is long with almond brittle and mint.
