Chichibu Paris Edition 2024 is a Japanese whisky honouring landmarks of Paris and Tokyo. Six monuments appear on washi paper labels, and this version shows the Arc de Triomphe.
It is a small batch of 15 casks, averaging six to seven years old: 12 bourbon barrels, two Chibidaru quarter casks and one red wine cask. Bottled at 50.5% in a 70cl bottle, it was produced in a total of 2,484 bottles.
Gentle peat sits alongside lemon, menthol and vanilla on the nose, with tropical fruit emerging as it opens. The palate is herbaceous, with pepper, damp earth, toast and chestnut. The finish is long and spicy, with coconut milk, candied pear and ginger.
