A Chichibu single malt from the Paris Edition 2025 of Ichiro's Malt, in a 70cl bottle at 50.5%. Le Marais is paired with Harajuku, one of three city pairings in the edition.
The cuvée combines whiskies of five to fourteen years from 17 casks, among them new French oak, ex-sherry, ex-Bordeaux and bourbon barrels, including two ex-heavy-peat bourbon barrels. It is limited to 2,484 bottles, non-chill-filtered and without added colour.
The nose is rich, with passion fruit, lychee, dark grape and blackberry, then cinnamon and prune. The palate is oily and strongly peaty, opening with lemon and pepper before honey, wax and ripe plum. The finish is long and malty, with gentian, mint and toffee.
