Churchill's Late Bottled Vintage Port 2019

A Late Bottled Vintage port from Churchill's, made from selected A-class grapes from the Douro in the 2019 harvest. The young LBV wines are tasted, chosen and blended with care. The blend spends four years in large oak vats, which softens the tannins while keeping the full fruit. It is then bottled unfiltered in dark Vintage Port-style bottles and laid down in temperature-controlled cellars to finish its ageing. Decanting is recommended. The colour is deep, like black cherries with a violet rim. The nose is fresh and resinous, with dark plums and blackcurrant. The palate is well structured, with dark chocolate and black pepper, and a grippy finish.
