Clyde May's Straight Bourbon is a Southern-style bourbon inspired by Alabama moonshiner Clyde May. It was distilled and bottled in Kentucky, in a 750ml bottle at 92 proof (46% ABV).
The bourbon is aged for four to five years in new American oak barrels. It is made with a high-corn mash bill and pure spring water, and has no apple added.
It is rich amber in colour. The nose offers caramel, toasted oak and vanilla with a hint of baking spice. The palate is smooth and full-bodied, with toffee, brown sugar and subtle pepper, balanced by soft corn sweetness. The finish is long, warm and slightly spicy, with oak and caramel lingering.
