Clyde May's Straight Bourbon is distilled in a copper pot still and matured in new American oak barrels of 53 gallons for a minimum of four and a half years. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and is non-chill filtered.
The brand was named the Official State Spirit of Alabama in 2001, and its founder, Clyde May, began distilling in 1946.
The nose is soft and sweet, with brown sugar, baked apricot, strawberry and nutmeg. On the palate it is soft and complex, with oak spices, fruit and oiled leather.
