Clyde May's Straight Rye is a 46% rye whiskey in a 70cl bottle. It is distilled in a copper pot still and matured for a minimum of four years in new American oak casks. It is non-chill-filtered.
The brand follows Clyde May, born in 1922, who began distilling in Alabama in 1946. In 2001 it was named the Official State Spirit of Alabama.
The nose offers flowers, honeysuckle and apricot. Palate and finish are soft and complex, with black pepper and oak spice, citrus and tannin.
