Napier is a Lowland single malt from The Clydeside Distillery, named after Robert Napier, the engineer widely regarded as the father of Clyde shipbuilding. The distillery stands opposite his original shipyard.
It is made with water from Loch Katrine and 100% Scottish barley, and matured for more than six years in Oloroso sherry casks. It is bottled at 46%, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The nose shows ripe berries, delicate floral notes and hints of tropical fruit. The palate is rich and soft, with orange marmalade, cherry and gentle vanilla, and the warm, long finish carries subtle clove and ginger.
