Clynelish 12 Year Old Special Release 2022 is a single malt Scotch whisky at 58.5% vol, in a 70cl bottle. It is part of the 2022 Special Releases, a yearly collection of cask strength bottlings.
Clynelish is known for its bourbon casks, but this release spent more than two years in Oloroso and PX sherry casks. Bright, sweet fruit meets a strong oak note, with only a slight trace of wax.
The colour is light gold. The nose offers creamy notes, then stewed pears and fruit cake. The palate is intense with grapes and spicy, and a few drops of water bring out nuts. The finish is spicy.
