Clynelish – 2016 10 Year Old 100 Proof #77 Refill Oloroso / New Wood (Signatory) (57.1%)

This is a cask strength Highland single malt from Clynelish, distilled in 2016 and bottled by Signatory at 57.1% as number 77 in its 100 Proof series. It spent ten years in refill Oloroso and new oak casks, which give it both a classic and a more modern cask character. The nose is waxy, with citrus, honey, a light salty minerality, dried fruit and spicy oak. The palate is full and structured, with Clynelish's familiar waxy texture, orange, malt and spice. The strength is firm but well integrated, and the finish is long, dry and lightly spiced, with lingering citrus and oak.
