Compass Box Canvas (75cl, 46%)

Canvas is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, bottled at 46% in a 75cl-style 750ml bottle. It brings together single malts from Tomatin, Glenburgie, Glen Elgin and Imperial, all first matured in American oak. The blend was then re-racked into Vino Naranja casks from Andalucía, Spanish fortified wine seasoned with bitter orange peel, where it spent a further three years. It is non-chill-filtered and was released in June 2021 as an experimental edition of 5,880 bottles. The nose is waxy, with blood orange, orange bitters, currants and black tea. On the palate come forest honey, vanilla shortbread, figs and ripe oranges, then nutmeg and cocoa. The finish is moderately long and gently drying, with cardamom and dark chocolate.
