Compass Box Canvas (70cl, 46%)

Canvas is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, released in June 2021 in an edition of 5,880 bottles. It is bottled at 46% ABV, in natural colour and without chill-filtration. The blend is built on single malts from Tomatin, Glenburgie, Glen Elgin and Imperial, all matured in American oak. A further parcel of malt spent three years in casks that previously held Vino Naranja, a Spanish wine flavoured with orange peel. The nose is waxy and lively, with citrus, forest honey and vanilla shortbread. The palate has honey, frangipane and custard, then jam, chocolate and warm spice, with a candied orange note. The finish is long, with nutmeg, cardamom and chocolate.
