Compass Box Celestial (70cl, 50%)

Celestial is a blended Scotch whisky from Compass Box, the fourth and final bottling in The Extinct Blends Quartet. It takes its inspiration from whisky of the 1960s and is bottled at 50% in a 70cl bottle, with an outturn of 5532 bottles. The blend draws on a range of whiskies, among them Glen Elgin, Ardbeg, Caol Ila and Pulteney, along with Ultramarine, Amici Ad Vitam and Tobias & The Angel. Tasting notes describe an intense smokiness on the nose, with mint, apple, vanilla, sea breeze, lemon and wax. The palate returns to peat and smoke, with citrus, saltiness, malt, ginger and nuts. The finish is medium in length.
