Compass Box Crimson Casks (70cl, 46%)

Crimson Casks is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, matured in sherry casks and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is rich with chocolate cake, cardamom and clove, and dark fruit such as plum jam and cherry. The palate is dense and almost syrupy, with dark chocolate, redcurrant jelly, toffee and woody, spicy oak. The finish is long and sweet, with raisins, brown sugar, honey and a hint of smoky nuts. It is described as a bold, opulent and well balanced malt.
