Orchard House is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, in a 75cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is bottled at natural colour and without chill-filtration.
Most of the character comes from Linkwood, Clynelish and Benrinnes, all matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, with smaller parcels from Caol Ila and other distilleries. Compass Box fills its casks at 58% ABV rather than the industry-standard 63.5%, a choice made to draw more sugar from the oak.
The nose is crisp apple, pear and pineapple with Earl Grey tea, while the palate brings golden apple, honey and shortbread with a faint trace of peat smoke. The finish is medium, with dried apple and light oak.
