Compass Box Peat Monster Cask Strength Origin Story (70cl, 56.7%)

This is a blended malt from Compass Box, released in 2023 for the company's 20th anniversary. It is the cask strength version of the Peat Monster blend. Most of the blend is made up of Laphroaig, in the form of Teaspooned Williamson, and Caol Ila, with a share from an unnamed Highland distillery. The whiskies come from refill American oak hogsheads, American oak bourbon barrels, refill puncheons and heavily toasted French oak casks. It is bottled unfiltered and uncoloured at 56.7% ABV. The label and packaging were designed by the artist Mark Burckhard as a tribute to the malt's origins and to New York.
