Compass Box The General is a 33-year-old blended Scotch whisky, created by John Glaser in 2013 and released as 1,698 bottles at 53.4%. It combines two existing blends, bringing together bourbon-cask whisky aged for 40 years and a 33-year-old blend matured in sherry casks. Honeyed cereal, dried fruit, beeswax and crème brûlée appear on the nose. The rich palate brings oak, caramel, toasted nuts and gentle spice, followed by a long finish of sherry, brown sugar, walnuts and tannins.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
