Ultramarine is a Scotch blend from Compass Box and the first release in The Extinct Blends Quartet. It combines malt and grain whisky from the 1970s and 1980s.
The distillates come from distilleries including Cameronbridge, Caol Ila, Girvan and Miltonduff. They matured in a mix of casks, among them recharred hogsheads, refill bourbon barrels, sherry-seasoned butts and first-fill sherry butts.
It was bottled at 51% ABV in a 70cl bottle, without colouring or chill-filtration.
