A Speyside single malt from Glentauchers, distilled in 1999 and matured for 25 years in a first-fill sherry hogshead. It is bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in the Connoisseurs Choice range.
Ripe dried fruit and honeyed sweetness come first. The palate brings spice-edged orchard fruit, dark chocolate and orange zest, with well-integrated oak and a hint of savoury aniseed. The finish is long and warming, with dried fruit, gentle spice and lingering sherry richness.
