Cooper King Many Hands Yorkshire Blended Malt Whisky (70cl, 48%)

Many Hands is a Yorkshire blended malt, and the first open collaboration between two English whisky distilleries. When a fault in Cooper King's copper still halted production for nine months in 2021, neighbouring Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery distilled spirit to Cooper King's recipe, which then returned to Cooper King for maturation. That spirit was filled into dark-fired bourbon, first-fill bourbon, rye whiskey and corn whiskey casks. Eight of the resulting casks were married with eight of Cooper King's own, matched cask type for cask type. It is bottled at 48%, non-chill filtered and of natural colour, one of 1,922 bottles. Honeycomb, peach cobbler and blackcurrant leaf lead the nose. The palate is savoury, with biscuit, toasted cashews and cracked black pepper, and the finish carries warmth from the American whiskey casks.
