The Golden Cut is a heavily peated Lowland single malt from Inchdairnie Distillery, released under the Finglassie name for Cooper's Choice. It matured for many years in a Spanish Rioja red wine cask.
This is cask number 623, bottled in 2026 at 50% ABV, and it yielded 450 bottles.
The nose combines fruity peat smoke with sweet pipe tobacco. On the palate come sweet malt, iodine, tar and stewed plums, then more peat and pipe tobacco alongside dried figs and raspberries. Smoke and sweetness stay in the finish for a long time.
