Copper Fox – Rye American Grain Spirit (2012) (70cl, 45%)

Copper Fox Rye is an American rye whiskey distilled in Sperryville, Virginia, in a double pot still. The mash is two-thirds rye and one-third hand-malted barley, and it was bottled on 15 March 2012 at 45% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured with a progressive series of apple and cherry wood chips, then finished in a bourbon barrel. It is unfiltered. The flavour is smoky without being heavy, with applewood and cherrywood smoke and the warm spice of the rye. The finish is soft and almost creamy.
