This is a 12 year old Speyside single malt from Craigellachie, bottled by Duncan Taylor as a single cask from a sherry butt. It is a private cask bottling for Whisky Druid, with 667 bottles at 52.4% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose combines orange oil with cherries, red grapes and bramble jam, then dates, gingerbread, nutmeg, dark chocolate and toasted oak. The palate is full and round, with chocolate-covered raisins, fig syrup, rosehip jelly and black cherries, plus burnt almonds, candied orange and cinnamon. The long finish is led by juicy orange, honey, sherry and dried fruit.
