Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from a distillery established in 1891. It is made with worm tub condensers, which give a heavier, more muscular spirit, and it is matured for 13 years in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. It is bottled at 46%, non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose offers fresh pineapple, baked apple and vanilla, with a little smoke and toasted oak. The palate is full-bodied, with rich malt, tropical fruit sweetness and a meaty, lightly smoky depth. The finish is long and warming, with charred oak and a touch of spice.
