Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was first matured in a mix of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, then half was finished in first-fill Sherry casks and the rest in first-fill Bourbon casks.
The distillery uses old-fashioned worm tubs to cool its spirit: a long copper tube that snakes back and forth through a tank of cold water and gives the spirit extra flavour.
The nose is toasted marshmallows, fire-roasted pineapple and baked apples studded with cloves, with the tang of cordite in the background.
