Craigellachie 13 Years is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and is non-chill-filtered and free of added colour.
The distillery's whisky was long used only in blends, and its first original single malt bottlings appeared in 2014. This 13-year-old has a strong, faintly smoky aroma and an old-school, full character.
The nose is penetrating and sweet, with mandarin, lemon and orange alongside baked apples. The palate is soft, with sweets, fresh fig, mandarin, marshmallow and a little cinnamon. The finish is long and clean, carrying the freshness of citrus and a hint of smoke.
