Craigellachie – 16 Year Old Old Malt Cask (70cl, 50%)

A single cask Craigellachie from Speyside, bottled by Hunter Laing in its Old Malt Cask series to mark the launch of the Ardnahoe single malt. It was distilled in April 2007 and matured for 16 years in an ex-sherry butt. Just 322 bottles were filled at 50%, non-chill-filtered and naturally coloured, in a 70cl bottle. The nose offers honey roast ham, dried fruits and caramel. On the palate come ginger nut biscuits and dark chocolate with a hint of lemon, and the finish is long and fruity with a pleasant meatiness.
