Craigellachie – 17 Year Old 2009 1st Fill Madeira Hogshead Finish Cask 202 Signatory Vintage Cask Strength Collection (55.7%)

This is a 17-year-old Craigellachie from Speyside, bottled by Signatory Vintage in its Cask Strength Collection at 55.7% ABV. The whisky was distilled on 20 January 2009 and finished in a first fill Madeira hogshead, cask 202. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colouring. Craigellachie was founded in 1891 by Alexander Edward and Peter Mackie. The distillery still condenses its spirit in traditional worm tubs, which helps keep the new make robust and oily. The former Madeira wine cask adds extra fruit and a gentle sweetness to that distillery character.
