Craigellachie – 17 Year Old 2009 Signatory Vintage Cask Strength Collection 1st Fill Madeira Hogshead Finish Cask No. 204 (55.4%)

This is a 17 year old Speyside single malt from Craigellachie, distilled in January 2009 and bottled by Signatory Vintage as a single cask for its Cask Strength Collection. It comes from 302 bottles, at 55.4% ABV, and is not chill-filtered. After maturing in Speyside, the whisky was finished in a first fill Madeira hogshead. The bottle is presented in a black metal tin. The nose brings dried figs, dates and candied orange peel, with fermented pineapple and dark honey. The palate is full and almost sticky, with pepper and cinnamon, leading to a long finish with oak.
