A 17 year old single malt from Craigellachie distillery in Speyside, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose benefits from a few minutes in the glass. It brings ripe caramelised pineapple, roasted apple, vanilla, toffee and heather honey, with beeswax, liquorice and a little earthy smoke underneath.
The palate is full, unctuous and chewy, with exotic fruit, custard, toasted almonds and a clear malt character, moving to American oak and spices such as white pepper and cinnamon. The finish is long and deep, with lingering spice, charred oak, black liquorice, cocoa and a touch of lemon.
