Craigellachie 19 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, an official bottling developed for international travel retail and bottled at 46%. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added colour.
The influence of bourbon casks stands out within a combination of cask types. Pineapple, creamy vanilla, coconut and sweet oak join the distillery's robust style, and the texture is dense and oily.
The nose shows pineapple in syrup, sulphury notes, dried pineapple, grilled peach and vanilla, with a hint of a matchbox striker. On the palate sweet pastry and a touch of smoke sit against tarry, sulphury notes, dry oak and cloves. The long finish stays tarry, sulphury and spicy.
