A Craigellachie single malt distilled in 2006 and bottled in 2022 at 15 years old, from a refill hogshead. It is an independent bottling from Thompson Bros at 50% ABV.
The nose opens with brambles and candy, then orchard fruits such as apple and hard pears, with toasted oak carrying a hint of charcoal, and almonds and honey.
On the palate, vanilla and honey come first, with sweet apples and creamy citrus, then peach, subtle mango and apricot. Barley sugar, soft date and sultana, delicate spice and black and pink pepper follow, and almond and tangy fruit run into the finish.
