This Craigellachie is a 25 year old Speyside single malt from Douglas Laing's Xtra Old Particular range, limited to 219 bottles. It was distilled in 1995, matured in a refill sherry butt and bottled at a natural cask strength of 53.7% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers warmed pecans in golden syrup, waxy lemons, green olives and home baking. The palate is heavy, sweet and savoury together, with new leather, fresh oak shavings, sticky toffee apples, berries and engine oil. The finish is long and sweet, with candyfloss and crème brûlée.
