Craigellachie 31 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, bottled at cask strength of 52.2% in a 70cl bottle. It was named Best Single Malt in the World at the 2017 World Whiskies Awards.
The whisky spent 31 years in oak. Craigellachie was founded in 1891, and its spirit is made using traditional worm tub condensers.
The nose offers rich tropical fruit, beeswax and old leather, with baked pineapple and toasted almonds. The palate is full-bodied and silky, with ripe mango, crème brûlée and delicate smoke over malt and oak spice. The finish is very long, with honeycomb, candied citrus and soft tobacco.
