Craigellachie 37 Year Old is a small-batch Speyside single malt distilled in 1984. It spent more than three decades in refill casks before a finish in first-fill ex-bourbon barrels.
The nose opens with honeysuckle and lilac, followed by pineapple tarte Tatin, toasted banana bread, vanilla custard, honeycomb and a faint hint of distant smoke. The palate is oily and waxy, with baked apples, candied pineapple, beeswax, toasted almonds, citrus and warm oak spices. The finish is long, with oak spice, dried fruit, honey and roasted nuts.
