Croftengea 2005 is a peaty Scottish whisky with a pale, white wine colour.
The nose opens on farmyard earthiness, wet chalk, freshly laundered fabrics, wool and carbon paper, with lemon-scented goat cheese and bath salts. A grassy smokiness builds over time, and water moves it towards brine, lemon juice and smoked olive oil.
The palate is medical and smoky, with ointment, pickling juices, tar and seawater. The finish is long and peaty, with green pepper, brine and a gentle, crisp smokiness.
