Croftengea Double Cask Finish comes from the Murray McDavid Cask Craft Collection. Croftengea is the heavily peated style made at Loch Lomond, and this single malt was finished in Port and Madeira barriques. It is bottled at 44.5% in a 70cl bottle, with natural colour and without chill-filtration.
The nose pairs smoke with ripe cherries, dark berries and creamy vanilla, with cream caramel and spicy oak behind. Peat smoke, woodland berries and exotic fruit lead on the palate, with roasted nuts and light wood. The finish is long and warming, with the smoke lasting alongside sweet fruit and fine spice.
