This is a blended Canadian whisky in a 750ml bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. It combines 50 whiskies made from rye, corn and barley, each distilled and aged separately before blending. Crown Royal was created in 1939 as a tribute to the royal tour of Canada by King George VI and Queen Elizabeth.
It is made at the Gimli distillery in Manitoba, using limestone-filtered water from Lake Winnipeg. The whisky is distilled through 12 columns and aged in white oak barrels.
The nose is vanilla, light maple and dried fruit, with toasted oak and rye spice. The palate is smooth and creamy, with vanilla, caramel and rye spice, and the finish is clean and medium-long.
