Crown Royal XO is a Canadian blended whisky made from 50 whiskies, finished in cognac casks. The blend is built from Canadian rye, corn and barley whiskies and is bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
The finish in casks that previously held cognac sets it apart from the standard Crown Royal blend. It is made by Crown Royal in Gimli, Manitoba.
The nose is dried fruit, honey and vanilla with a gentle, cognac-influenced spice. On the palate come vanilla, caramel, rye spice and dried fruit, and the finish is long, with dried fruit and warm spice.
