Cù Bòcan Creation #8 is a lightly peated Highland single malt from Tomatin, bottled at 46%. It is part of the Creations series of experimental releases and is non-chill filtered, with natural colour.
It was matured in ice wine casks and Verdejo casks, which together balance smoke and sweetness.
The nose is sweet fruit with gentle heather smoke: baked apples, poached pears, apricot jam, candied peach and citrus zest. The palate is silky and sweet, turning fresher and slightly smoky, with honeycomb, peach, marmalade and lime zest. The finish fades into smoky honey, citrus peel and soft oak spice.
