Dailuaine – 16 Year Old Flora & Fauna (70cl, 43%)

Dailuaine 16 Year Old is the regular distillery bottling of the Speyside distillery, part of Diageo's Flora & Fauna series. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. William Mackenzie founded the distillery in 1852, between the foot of Ben Rinnes and the River Spey. Much of its spirit goes into blended Scotch, including Johnnie Walker, and the Flora & Fauna series, introduced in 1991, gives it a place as a 16 year old single malt. The nose brings cheddar rind, old Madeira, walnut and butterscotch, with orange and candied peel developing. The palate is full, sweet and warming with citrus freshness, and the finish is warming and lightly nutty.
